The talk of Bruno Merín Martín (ESA Project Scientist – CHaracterizing ExOPlanet Satellite) will provide an overview of the opportunities available to scientists at all career stages, engineers, and students to engage with ESA's space science activities, including research programmes, fellowships, PhD opportunities, and career pathways - practical, valuable options that are not always widely known or easy to discover early in an academic or research career.

The European Space Agency (ESA) offers a wide range of opportunities for scientists, engineers, and students from its Member States to contribute to cutting-edge space science and technology projects. This presentation will provide an overview of the many pathways for engaging with ESA’s Science Directorate, including scientific visitor programmes, co-supervised PhD opportunities with European universities, research fellowship schemes, and career opportunities across ESA. 

Participants will gain insight into the different programmes available, their objectives, eligibility criteria, and application processes. Whether you are a student considering a research career, an early-career scientist or engineer, or an experienced professional interested in working with ESA, this session will highlight practical ways to become involved in Europe’s space science activities.
