Tempus Public Foundation / Hungarian National CEEPUS Office offers CEEPUS Freemover mobility scholarships for incoming university students and teachers from CEEPUS member countries for the autumn semester in the academic year of 2026/2027.
Applications are accepted only from the CEEPUS member countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, Serbia, the Slovak Republic and Slovenia (in the latter case only students and lecturers traveling to special courses). Applicants with Hungarian citizenship or Hungarian place of residence cannot be considered.
Application deadline for long-term student mobilities: 30th of June 2026
Application deadline for short-term student, teacher and staff mobilities: 31st of August 2026
Attention! There should be at least two months between the submission of the application and the proposed start date. Applications will be proceeded in case of formal eligibility and in the order of arrival.

Available scholarships
Students (S):
- Tendered period: 1 September 2026 - 31 August 2027
- Whole semester or trimester at the host university (3-5 months)
- Minimum duration of mobility period: full months (last month at least 16 days)
- 190 000 HUF / month (approx. 543 EUR)
- Obligation of attending lectures and seminars, obtaining credits
- Learning Agreement is highly recommended
Short-term students (ST):
Tendered period: 1 September 2026 - 31 August 2027
Students working on their thesis and PhD students
Minimum duration of mobility period:
1 month: at least 21 days
2 months: 1 whole month and at least 16 days
190 000 HUF / month (approx. 543 EUR)
Teachers (TR):
- Tendered period: 1 September 2026 - 31 August 2027
- 1-month scholarships
- Minimum duration of mobility period: 5 working days with 6 hours teaching / supervising activity
- 210 000 HUF / month (approx. 601 EUR) - With min. 5 working days AND min. 6 hours teaching/supervising activity. It counts as one scholarship month
- 315 000 HUF / month (approx. 902 EUR) - With min. 10 working days within 2 weeks AND min. 12 hours teaching/supervising activity. It counts as one scholarship month

Application process
CEEPUS Freemovers need to find and contact the host ELTE faculty / department themselves and obtain the Letter of Acceptance document.
The online application form must be submitted through the central CEEPUS website: www.ceepus.info. You can find the general application process here (IV. How to apply).

At ELTE, the faculty administration is responsible for signing the document. If you are unable to determine, which faculty you should write to, you can also write an e-mail to ceepus@elte.hu, stating your name, your subject field, your home university and the planned mobility period.
2 CEEPUS Freemover Letters of Recommendation issued by lecturers of the home university
Teachers:
CEEPUS Freemover Teachers’ Letter from the host ELTE faculty/department. At ELTE, the departmental coordinators are responsible for signing the document. Please contact the faculty administration or write an e-mail to ceepus@elte.hu, stating your name, your subject field, your home university and the planned mobility period.
