Hi, my name is Elene Samsiani, and I’m from Georgia. I’m someone who genuinely enjoys being involved and staying curious about the world around me. Programming has been a big passion of mine for years, and I see my future in cybersecurity, but beyond academics, I love reading and traveling because they allow me to see different perspectives and cultures. Spending time with my friends and family is very important to me. I’m also a big football fan and a proud Liverpool supporter. For me, growth is not only professional but also personal, I always try to challenge myself and step outside my comfort zone.
"The university provides real opportunities, whether academic, professional, or extracurricular."
WHAT STOOD OUT TO YOU ABOUT ELTE?
ELTE has the balance between tradition and opportunity. It has a strong academic reputation, but at the same time, it feels dynamic and international. As a student coming from abroad, I immediately noticed how diverse and welcoming the environment is. It’s not just a place to attend lectures, it’s a community where you can build connections and grow in many directions.
WHAT MAKES STUDYING AT ELTE SO GREAT?
ELTE has a great combination of people and possibilities. The environment is friendly and motivating, and you are surrounded by ambitious students from different backgrounds. At the same time, the university provides real opportunities, whether academic, professional, or extracurricular. If you are active and curious, ELTE gives you the space to shape your own path.
WHAT ARE / WERE YOUR CHALLENGES IN YOUR STUDY PROGRAM?
One of the challenges I faced was choosing the right electives. Having many options is a privilege, but it also requires responsibility. During the first week, when we could explore courses and review the syllabus before finalising our choices, I realised how important it is to think strategically about what aligns with your goals and interests.
HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THESE CHALLENGES?
I learned that asking for advice is powerful. I reached out to senior students and asked about their experiences. Their honest feedback helped me make informed decisions and feel more confident in my choices. It also showed me how supportive the ELTE community can be when you take initiative.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE ELTE IN THREE WORDS?
Ambitious. International. Supportive.
HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR DEGREE WILL HELP YOU IN YOUR LIFE AND CAREER?
My degree is not only giving me technical knowledge but also shaping the way I think. It has strengthened my problem-solving skills, discipline, and independence. In a field like cybersecurity, critical thinking and adaptability are essential, and ELTE challenges me to continuously improve. Beyond my career, these skills will help me navigate life with confidence and resilience.
DO YOU HAVE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FUTURE STUDENTS AT ELTE?
Since I’m still a first-year student, I’m also learning and discovering new things every day. My advice would simply be to stay open and not be afraid to ask questions. Talk to senior students, explore your courses carefully, and give yourself time to adjust. It’s completely normal not to have everything figured out in the beginning.
