Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan is thrilled to announce that applications will be opening soon for Waseda Winter Session 2027! 

This once-in-a-lifetime, four-week program for undergraduate students worldwide will run from January 11th to February 2nd, 2027, including a mandatory orientation on January 9th. 

Whether they wish to explore their academic interests or Japanese unique cultures, this Winter Session provides the perfect opportunity. Students will also have the chance to meet new friends, including local students, and experience vibrant campus life at Waseda. 

Participants will choose 2 subjects out of 6 subjects in the context of Japan and Asia Pacific and can earn　4 credits (2 credits for each). Each subject has 23.3 teaching hours. For more details, please see here (Syllabus will be updated by the end of August.) 

The classes are entirely taught in English by well-known faculty members. In addition, and most importantly, there will be a lot of extracurricular activities such as Japanese language exercises, field trips, site visits, and cultural events! 

Online Application: Monday, September 14th – Friday, October 2nd, 2026 

Duration & Dates: 4 weeks from Monday, January 11th to Tuesday, February 2nd, 2027 

Tuition and Fees: 
TWO Courses with housing: JPY 557,000 (approx.: USD 3710) 
TWO Courses without housing: JPY 365,000 (approx.: USD 2430)
