CHARM-EU's sustainability-focused programme offers valuable intercultural and practical knowledge that can make a real difference for students. Students from any disciplinary background may apply until 22 February.

The Master's in Global Challenges in Sustainability offers a unique international learning environment and provides the opportunity to earn a master's degree awarded jointly by the nine CHARM-EU partner universities. In this one-of-a-kind joint programme, you will gain an advanced understanding in sustainability issues while working on real-world problems with peers and partners from business, civil society and policy.

The program offers a fully international and intercultural experience: students attend classes in one of the CHARM-EU universities and connect to the other campuses online through hybrid classrooms. International mobility is an integrated part: you will follow a unique learning path through Europe that supports your needs and ambitions. You will experience a welcoming, equitable learning space that values diversity at every level, helping you acquire new skills while deepening your expertise through a chosen field.

The first round of applications to the sixth cohort of the Master's programme (starting in September 2026) closes on 8 February 2026. A second round will open until 22 February, however, applying in the first period increases the chances of being accepted at the preferred starting university and the preferred track in the flexible phase.

Student testimonials

„I very much enjoyed all of our field trips. On the one hand, we had two blended intensive mobility programmes in the second phase – one in Budapest and one in Montpellier – and we visited very interesting places such as markets, wholesale businesses and food security organizations. We also had shorter local field trips, for example in the Netherlands we visited small gardens and community gardens.” – Lonci Tóbiás (Cohort 2021-2023). Full interview

„I recommend the programme to practically anyone who is open to learning in an international environment with innovative teaching methods and willing to travel and work with students and teachers coming from various countries. Overall, I believe that we have great opportunities with a CHARM-EU degree in hand.” – András Kovaloczy (Cohort 2022-2024). Full interview.
