The PADMICA project consortium has developed an intercultural reflection module to support students who have participated in mobility programmes in processing and making long-term use of their intercultural experiences abroad. The module aims to encourage students to consciously reflect on their experiences during mobility and to explore how they can successfully apply the intercultural skills acquired abroad in their future studies and professional lives.
The module complements the PADMICA Intercultural Preparation Module developed earlier in the project. Similarly to the preparation module, the reflection module combines online and in-person elements and provides a structured learning framework to support students in making meaningful use of the intercultural experiences gained during mobility, as well as in processing their personal experiences.
The online component of the module can be completed independently and at the learner’s own pace, while the in-person session provides an opportunity to jointly reflect on experiences and engage in expert-facilitated reflection.
- consciously reflect on and process their intercultural experiences gained during mobility,
- manage the challenges resulting from returning home from another environment more effectively,
- recognise and become more aware of the skills they have acquired abroad and their personal development,
- further develop their intercultural competences and self-awareness,
- and make use of the knowledge and experiences gained during mobility in their future studies and professional lives.
Methodological and facilitator support materials accompanying the module are also available for higher education professionals.
- The module supports higher education professionals in
- helping students process the experiences gained during their mobility,
- increasing the long-term positive impact of mobility programmes,
- and providing returning students with a structured and easy-to-use reflection process.
The module is also available in interactive PDF format on this link.
