Hi everyone! My name is Madina, and I'm from Kazakhstan. I'm currently studying for a Master's degree in Social Integration at ELTE. I really enjoy travelling, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures. I also teach English online, which I find really rewarding because I love helping people improve their language skills. In my free time, you'll usually find me going for long walks, listening to music, or relaxing with a good cup of coffee.

 

What really stood out to me about ELTE was the people. I was genuinely impressed by the teachers, students, coordinators, and everyone I met. They are incredibly supportive, always willing to help, and truly passionate about what they do. Their kindness and positive attitude made me feel welcome from the very beginning, and that's something I really appreciate about ELTE.

First of all, I really appreciate our professors. They are highly knowledgeable and experienced, but they always treat students with respect and encourage us to share our opinions. I love that everyone feels comfortable expressing their ideas and taking part in discussions. Another thing I really enjoy is the international community. Studying alongside people from different countries and cultural backgrounds makes every class more interesting and gives you the chance to learn from different perspectives.

At first, I found my study programme quite challenging because it was different from my bachelor's programme. The education system was also new to me, so I felt a bit confused at the beginning. However, with time, I adapted to the new environment, became more familiar with the system, and gained confidence. Now I feel comfortable with my studies, and I'm doing well.

I overcame these challenges thanks to the support of my professors and group mates. They were always approachable, patient, and willing to help whenever I had questions.

My degree in Social Integration will help me both personally and professionally. It has given me a deeper understanding of cultural diversity, inclusion, and the challenges different communities face. I've also developed valuable skills in communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving. In my career, these skills will help me work effectively with people from different backgrounds, whether in education, international organisations, or other multicultural environments. I believe this degree has prepared me to make a positive impact and contribute to creating more inclusive communities.

My advice for future students is to stay open-minded and make the most of every opportunity. Don't be afraid to ask questions or seek help.  Try to get involved in university life, join events, meet people from different countries, and step outside your comfort zone. Studying at ELTE is not only about earning a degree; it's also about growing as a person, building lifelong friendships, and creating unforgettable memories.
