Szia! My name is Magdalena, and I’m an international student from Macedonia. I truly enjoy connecting with people and having meaningful conversations. I value communication and love getting to know different perspectives and personalities. In my free time, I enjoy reading, staying active through running, and exploring the city — whether that means discovering a quiet café or walking through lively streets and experiencing new places. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the course, university life, or how to balance everything. I would be more than happy to share my experiences and support you during this important and exciting moment of your life.

"Studying at ELTE is special because it feels like a community, not just a university. The international atmosphere adds a quiet magic to everyday life, with different languages, stories, and cultures blending naturally together."

What stood out to you about ELTE?

What first drew my attention to ELTE was its strong academic reputation and its position as one of the most respected universities in Hungary. While exploring different study options, I was looking for a university that offered high-quality programs, experienced teaching staff, and an international learning environment, and ELTE clearly stood out to me. After becoming a student here, I realized that my expectations truly matched the reality. The academic standards are high, yet students are given the opportunity to shape their studies through a wide selection of engaging and diverse courses. This balance has allowed me to grow not only academically, but also personally. I was especially drawn to the fact that students from all over the world study here, creating a diverse environment where people can connect, share cultures, and learn from one another. Being located in Budapest, a vibrant capital city full of life, history, and opportunities, makes the experience even more exciting.

What makes studying at ELTE so great?

Studying at ELTE is special because it feels like a community, not just a university. The supportive professors and welcoming environment make learning both comfortable and motivating. The international atmosphere adds a quiet magic to everyday life, with different languages, stories, and cultures blending naturally together. Being surrounded by students from all over the world creates meaningful connections and unforgettable experiences. ELTE encourages you to grow and discover your true potential.

What are/were your challenges in your study program?

At the beginning of my studies, one of my main challenges was adapting to a new academic environment and a demanding study schedule. Managing multiple courses and keeping up with deadlines required strong time-management skills, especially while trying to maintain a healthy balance between studying and personal life. Another challenge was studying in a foreign language, which initially made understanding new material more difficult and required extra effort and concentration. Over time, however, this experience helped me become more confident and adaptable. Although these challenges were not easy at first, they played an important role in academic growth.

How did you overcome these challenges?

I managed these challenges by slowly finding my own rhythm and learning what study methods worked best for me. Over time, I became more organized by planning my tasks in advance and setting clear priorities. Adjusting to a new environment required patience, but with continuous effort and self-discipline, I grew more confident with each step. Working through these difficulties shaped me personally and increased my enthusiasm for my academic path.

How would you describe ELTE in three words?

Modern - Innovative  - Multicultural

How do you think your degree will help you in your life and career?

My studies in International Business Economics at ELTE are shaping both my academic perspective and my personal outlook on the world. The program encourages me to think critically, remain open-minded, and apply what I learn to real-life situations. Being part of ELTE’s academic environment gives me a strong sense of direction. I believe this degree will serve as a solid foundation for my future and help transform my interests into lasting opportunities.

Do you have any recommendations for future students at ELTE?

My biggest recommendation is to stay open to everything this experience has to offer. From the very beginning, try to manage your studies well and create a routine that works for you, as this makes university life much less stressful. At the same time, ELTE is not only about studying, it’s about meeting people, building connections, and discovering yourself along the way. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, seek support, and step outside your comfort zone, because that’s where real growth happens. I also encourage future students to truly experience Budapest. The city has its own energy and beauty, and exploring it can make your university life even more special. Balance your studies with moments of rest, curiosity, and joy, as these moments are just as important as academic success. When you allow yourself to fully experience university life, it becomes a journey you will always carry with you.
