What do you like most about being a student at ELTE?
I choose environmental science major at ELTE because of the idea of multidisciplinary program which drew concepts from several different areas. During my study, I have met qualified teachers and new inspiring friends from around the world. My knowledge especially about global environmental issues has increased significantly by sharing and discussing with them. Besides, ELTE is located in Budapest where there are many attractive chances for student to build wider networking.
What are your challenges in your study program?
Personally speaking, my biggest challenge was the adaptation process to absolutely new culture and study curriculum. Fortunately, the teachers were so helpful to international student like me. Being both foreigner and student in entirely distinct situation with my hometown have provided me valuable lesson to respect the difference and be more active as individual.
How do you think your degree will help you in your life and career?
Studying at ELTE will open up my mind professionally and expand my horizons toward the challenges of globalization. All courses provide the healthy balance between theoretical knowledge and practical work which are currently in high demand to enhance the skills and expertise of graduate working in environmental protection field. These have given the confidence that higher degree from ELTE will be very useful for my future professional career.
Do you have any recommendations for future students at ELTE?
Being a student does not mean that your only job is to study at campus everyday. There are plenty of opportunities outside there to enhance your professional skill and strengthen your network, for instance by joining internship, conference, summer/winter school or even voluntary activities. Moreover, do not forget to explore the exquisite Budapest with new friends and delicious Hungarian cuisines!
