WHAT STOOD OUT TO YOU ABOUT ELTE?

I love that ELTE University is the most prestigious university in Hungary, and I thought, what better way of doing my undergraduate degree than in the best university in Hungary? I love the vibrance, the feel, and the way the university has been running itself for 15 years.

WHAT MAKES STUDYING AT ELTE SO GREAT?

What makes ELTE so great is that Budapest has been labelled a ‘Student city’. Indeed, ¾ of the people who live in Budapest are likely students, and it's so common to see students of different backgrounds and locals, too, studying in Budapest and making their way into university.

WHAT ARE / WERE YOUR CHALLENGES IN YOUR STUDY PROGRAM?

The biggest challenge I faced was my time management skills, such as balancing my coursework with my extracurricular activities (swimming) and personal commitments. The workload was relatively double, but the part I struggled with was coming into the lectures on time. I overcame this by ensuring that I woke up early to give myself that extra time to complete my workload and arrive on time.

HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THESE CHALLENGES?

My number 1 challenge was navigating around a new country because I have lived in a country with my parents for my entire life; having to live by myself without any parental support served as a massive hurdle for me to overcome only until my second semester. And if any new student faces this issue, I would be happy to help as much as possible.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE ELTE IN THREE WORDS?

Magnificent, Worthwhile, Stupendous

HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR DEGREE WILL HELP YOU IN YOUR LIFE AND CAREER?

Having a degree in psychology will allow me to pursue a master's in a degree of my choice. Psychology as a degree is quite broad, which allows me to get into fields ranging from business to scientific disciplines, and data analytics, which is a growing field.

DO YOU HAVE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FUTURE STUDENTS AT ELTE?

Yeah, if you’re looking to study in Hungary and you’re friends are probably wanting to study in the Netherlands, USA, UK, Australia, Canada, the typical university Countries. Be different, make your move here. I gave it a massive risk and it blew my expectations, an underrated and Affordable Country I must say.
