In general, international students are expected to fund their own studies. Please note that tuition and other fees might differ depending on the study program. Keep in mind that you need to transfer the tuition fee each semester until 15 October and 15 March. If you miss it, you won’t be able to sign up for your exams and to register for the following semester.

Many students look for some funding or student loan or work part-time to get some pocket money. Please also check the expected living costs in Budapest to plan your studies at ELTE. If you come to study at ELTE for a longer time, you might consider to open a bank account. Finally, if you receive a scholarship from the Hungarian government, you are required to open a Hungarian bank account and to request a tax card.
