I love to travel and In my free time you will find me reading or creating content like podcasts. I am also a lover of nature walks and those cozy, rainy days best enjoyed with a hot cup of coffee. Oh, and I have a cat who is more like my child!
WHAT STOOD OUT TO YOU ABOUT ELTE?
What stood out to me about ELTE was its top ranking when I first searched for universities in Hungary. I was impressed by the wide range of programs and diverse opportunities it offers. What truly caught my attention, though, was the vibrant international community. Reading university blogs and learning about the student ambassadors made it clear that ELTE embraces multiple cultures, which I found fascinating and welcoming.
WHAT MAKES STUDYING AT ELTE SO GREAT?
What makes studying at ELTE great is the variety of experiences it offers. Academically, you have a wide range of programs to choose from, along with the flexibility to register for optional courses across different departments. But beyond that, the social aspect is just as enriching, ELTE provides plenty of activities and opportunities to join various organizations, allowing you to meet new people and get involved in the community.
WHAT ARE / WERE YOUR CHALLENGES IN YOUR STUDY PROGRAM?
The main challenge I have encountered is adjusting to the differences in the education system, particularly with grading and credits. Coming from a different country, it is normal to face such variations, but it took some time to get used to.
HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THESE CHALLENGES?
I overcame this challenge by reading the guides ELTE provides for each program, which are easily accessible on their website. Additionally, I made sure to ask my professors for clarification on what was expected in each course to earn specific credits. Over time, it became easier to understand the system

HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR DEGREE WILL HELP YOU IN YOUR LIFE AND CAREER?
What motivates me to pursue a PhD in Intercultural Linguistics is the profound impact it has on both my personal and professional life. On the career side, it equips me with a comprehensive set of research skills, allowing me to navigate various methodologies and adapt to different variables. I also gain essential writing, communication, and critical thinking skills that are crucial in any field. Personally, this journey enables me to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds, as I engage with various languages and cultures throughout my studies.
DO YOU HAVE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FUTURE STUDENTS AT ELTE?
My recommendations for future students at ELTE are to remember that help is always available if you have questions about your program or life at the university. Do not hesitate to reach out for help, there are plenty of resources and support systems in place. Additionally, make the most of what ELTE offers, such as the extensive libraries filled with valuable resources and the opportunity to participate in various organizations and events. Engaging in these activities will enrich your university experience.
