“As I study Hungarian language, I was going to take a language course in Hungary. There are many universities in Hungary, but I chose one of the oldest, prestigious and popular with overseas students.”
Why ELTE?
As I study Hungarian language, I was going to take a language course in Hungary. There are many universities in Hungary, but I chose one of the oldest, prestigious and popular with overseas students. I also liked ELTE, because it is situated in the capital of Hungary, where there are many attractive possibilities for young people.
What did you like most about being a student at ELTE?
I think that the standard of education is high, and the professors are well-trained professionals, who can teach and know how to explain a content in a manner their students understand. It’s quite important for a fine education. So, ELTE justified my hopes. I would come back with pleasure!
What were the challenges in your study program?
I think I didn’t have any. One thing I can say: Hungarian is one of the difficult languages in the world. When I came to Hungary for the first time, I couldn’t understand anything from the language for two weeks!
How do you think your degree will help/has helped you in your life and career?
I’m sure I was able to improve my language skills, and of course it helps me in life: I manage my studying! Who knows, maybe I will become a Hungarian interpreter.
Do you have any advice for future students at ELTE?
Don’t miss the opportunity to go to Hungary! You will spend maybe the best time of your life. You can make friends with interesting people, practice one of the most difficult languages in the world and, of course, learn about the rich Hungarian culture!
