“The TEMA degree diversified my professional knowledge and skills and granted me international connections.”

Why ELTE?

ELTE is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Hungary. This fact was my strongest incentive to choose it as my main mobility in the joint Erasmus program. The fact that it is located in Budapest, a city I’ve heard so many positive things about, made me really eager to study in it as well.

What did you like most about being a student at ELTE?

In terms of location and function, the Faculty of Humanities is very well placed in the center close to the Danube and on a very dynamic street that is full of second-hand bookshops and affordable restaurants with delicious food. The campus itself is equally dynamic with old beautiful buildings. Concerning education, I am also quite satisfied with the department that I study at (Aterlier) due to the friendly atmosphere that the staff and students alike create as well as the exciting and demanding curriculum.

What were the challenges in your study program?

Having graduated previously with a BSc in Landscape Design, coming to TEMA, a theoretical and research-based master proved to be a challenge in the sense that I had to make a bigger effort than students who already have a background in humanities. But the bigger the challenge, the more rewarding is a good outcome.

How do you think your degree will help you in your life and career?

The TEMA degree diversified my professional knowledge and skills and granted me international connections. It allows me to apply for a PhD or a research/NGO-based job in the near future in the field of urban studies or social sciences.

Do you have any advice for future students at ELTE?

Könyvtár Klub is the most awesome place on Campus ☺
