Additional financial supports
Additional financial support for Erasmus+ mobility
Available financial support for outgoing students during Erasmus+ mobility
A key element in planning a trip is knowing the various additional support options available. Below, we have collected the most important scholarship types the University provides from variable sources to help planning the mobility.
SCHOLARSHIP TYPES AVAILABLE:
- Erasmus + individual support grant:
- Mobility within Europe
- Mobilities outside Europe (+Switzerland and the United Kingdom)
- Erasmus+ additional financial support:
- Additional financial support for students with fewer opportunities:
- For detailed conditions please see the website of the additional support for students with fewer opportunities.
- Long-term mobility: Students eligible for the grant may receive top-up support of €250 per month, regardless of the type of mobility (studies, traineeship, post-graduate traineeship).
- Short-term mobility (participation in a Blended Intensive Program): Students eligible for the grant can receive top-up support of €100 in one amount for physical mobilities up to 14 days, and €150 for physical mobilities between 15 and 30 days.
- Students applying for the additional support may apply for "Additional financial support for students with disabilities or long-term illnesses" at the same time (if eligible).
- SN - Additional financial support for students with disabilities or long-term illnesses:
- For students with disabilities or long-term illness, regardless of the mobility type (long-term or short-term). For detailed conditions please see the website for SN additional support.
- Long-term student mobility (studies, traineeship, traineeship after graduation): Provided that the student does not need additional support exceeding €250 per month for the mobility and has not applied for the additional financial support for students with fewer opportunities, the additional support for students will be a flat-rate amount of €250 per month. An itemised list of costs is not necessary to apply for additional support of up to €250 per month, nor is a list of purchased items certified by invoices required at the end of the mobility.
- For short-term student mobility, the support is a one-off amount of €100 (for mobility of 1-14 days) or €150 (for mobility of 15-30 days).
- If the student needs additional support exceeding €250 per month for the mobility or has applied for the additional financial support for students with fewer opportunities, further additional support may be requested. If, based on the documents submitted, the amount of the additional allowance proposed by the medical experts exceeds €250 per month, only the amount exceeding €250 per month must be accounted for by the outgoing participant, supported by invoices.
- Green travel support: (updated: 16.04.2024, based on the modified guidelines published by the Tempus Public Foundation on 10.04.2024)
- Students may receive additional support for green travel (confirmed sustainable means of transport), which is defined as the travel that uses low-emissions means of transport for the main part of the travel (between the sending and host or its neighbouring countries), such as bus, train car-pooling or bike. Flights and boat trips are not considered green.
- The amount of the grant: a single contribution of €50 if at least 50% of the total return journey is sustainable (green) and an additional grant for max. 1-1 or 2-2 travel days before and after the mobility, based on the length of the mobility (long-term or short-term) and the distance between the sending and host institutions. (In the case of long-term mobility, the grant per travel day equals to 1/30 of the monthly Erasmus+ individual grant / daily Erasmus+ individual grant.)
