Why is ELTE a Great Choice for Your Studies? Part 2

Hey, I’m Otar, a Computer Science BSc student at ELTE. I get asked a lot about what studying at ELTE is really like: Is it hard? Are the programs well-organized? So, I thought I’d take a moment to share why I think ELTE has been such a great fit for me, and why it might be the right choice for you too.

Are professors friendly? Are they willing to help?

What stands out to me the most is how approachable and supportive the professors are. They’re not just experts in their fields but they really care about your success. From day one, I felt like I could reach out for help. It did not matter, whether it was with coursework or career advice. ELTE’s academic community is very tight, and the professors genuinely want to see you grow.

Are there research opportunities for BSc students?

Honestly speaking, if you are into research, ELTE is the perfect match. There are many exciting projects where you can get involved right from the beginning. Artificial intelligence? Robotics? Data science? As a student at the Faculty of Informatics where I pursue studies in computer science, I can say that there are plenty of opportunities for research.

Besides academics, what other opportunities does ELTE offer?

Of course, being a student is not all about academics. Having academic excellence is a priority; however, there is more than just academics in student life. That’s why, ELTE also knows how important it is to have a balance. Thus, there are plenty of student organizations, sports teams and cultural events for us to get involved in. If you like staying active like I do, there are plenty of sports teams that you can join. Personally speaking, being able to stay active has been a great way to relax and keep life balanced while focusing on my studies.

How does living in Budapest feel like?

Last but certainly not least, let’s talk about Budapest. This city is full of energy and culture. Also, not to forget it is a growing hub for tech and startups and industry. There are lots of opportunities to get internships and network with professionals. All of that makes it a perfect place for students to start their careers. On top of that, the city itself is genuinely breathtaking with its stunning architecture, and lively atmosphere. There are lots of nice places to try out delicious local food. And what’s most important, people here are friendly and welcoming!

So, do you recommend ELTE?

In my time at ELTE, I’ve gained so much both academically and personally. The university offers a unique balance of history, innovation, and support that’s hard to find elsewhere. Whether you’re studying computer science, humanities, or any other fields, ELTE has everything you need to succeed. I’m really happy with my decision to study here, and I honestly believe it’s one of the best places to study in Europe.
