In addition to its active support of elite athletes, Eötvös Loránd University has many links to the Olympic Games. ELTE participated in the 500-day campaign "Go to the Paris Olympics", in which 128 European embassies and hundreds of athletes promoted the Olympic ideal.

In March this year, a panel discussion was organised with the French Embassy, the Hungarian fencing, judo and table tennis federations, Olympic and Paralympic athletes and Eötvös Loránd University. Krisztián Szalay, Rector's Commissioner for Sport, said that it is good to be a top athlete at ELTE, both in preparation and competition, as the university supports their successful participation with uniquely tailored study arrangements and flexible examination dates.
