Student organizations

Student organizations

Beyond the classroom, you have opportunities to engage in various extracurricular activities, join student organizations, and participate in cultural events that reflect the rich tapestry of life at ELTE in Budapest.

Mentor systems:

As a new incoming student, you can request a student mentor who can help you during the first steps at ELTE in Hungary.

As an upper-year student, you can be a mentor yourself and support newly arriving international students.

The two largest mentor organizations at ELTE are ESN ELTE and Stipendium Hungaricum Mentor Network.

University Students’ Union:

The Students’ Union’s main role is to represent Hungarian and international students at ELTE in different issues, such as  studies, allowances, and any problems coming up during studies.

International Student Advisory Committee (ISAC):

ISAC aims to further promote the representation of international students at ELTE.

International Student Ambassadors:

International Student Ambassadors are current international students who share their ELTE experience, mainly with prospective students who are interested in studying at ELTE and/or currently applying for a degree program.

Dormitories:

ELTE dormitories do not only offer an affordable plac eto stay during studies but also vivid community life.

ELTE EKSZ is a volunteer-based institutional sustainability programme that has been operating since 2008. It has been developed and run by students, employees, and volunteers. The organisers welcome university students and university employees.

ELTE TáTK Culture Club:

The Culture Club welcomes every ELTE student regardless of the faculty they study at, and it aims to build a student community dedicated to cultural exchanges and learning.

ELTE International Relations Society (IRS):

The ELTE IR Society at the Faculty of Social Sciences started in 2023 and has been very successful in integrating international and Hungarian students.
