Stipendium Hungaricum Excellence Awards presented to four ELTE students
Four ELTE students were given the Stipendium Hungaricum Excellence Award and the Hungarian Excellence Award on the Stipendium Hungaricum Welcome Event on 16 October.

On the Welcome Event, newly arrived Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship holders were welcomed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Tempus Public Foundation.

After the welcome speeches, the Excellence Awards were presented to a small number of current upper-year Stipendium Hungaricum students. These students—carefully selected by their institution—not only display academic excellence and performed above average last year, but they have also strongly contributed to building the Stipendium Hungaricum community in various extracurricular activities.

ELTE recipients of the Stipendium Hungaricum Excellence Award:

Le Ha Anh (Vietnam) International Business Economics BA (Faculty of Economics)

Le Ha Anh was one of the ELTE International Student Ambassadors in 2023/2024 and Stipendium Hungaricum mentor at the Faculty of Economics, and she has been member of the International Student Advisory Committee (ISAC) since 2023/2024. Through these roles she has helped international students at ELTE to find their ways at the university and in Budapest. In the summer 2024, she was the International Student Coordinator for ELTE Budapest Summer University where she assisted in the organization of classes and outdoor activities for the participants.

She has also received the National Higher Education Scholarship for 2024/2025 due to her outstanding academic performance. She has also participated in various pofessional events and compatitions (e.g., HISA Youth Dialogue 2024, Equity Research Bootcamp organized by the Vietnamese Student Association in the UK).

Khanh Linh Dang Hoang (Vietnam) International Relations BA (Faculty of Social Sciences)

As a former ELTE International Student Ambassador, Linh has shared her experience with prospective and current international students on various platforms, including the social media channels of ELTE and as a guest of an ELTE Walk podcast episode. She has also been member of the International Student Advisory Committee (ISAC) since 2023/2024 and has also actively volunteered in the student organization Culture Club at the Faculty of Social Sciences, ELTE. Linh has also joined the Béla Bartók Choir of Eötvös Art Ensemble. Linh has been also active in the events of the Vietnamese Students’ Association in Hungary. Besides Stipendium Hungaricum, Linh has also received the National Higher Education Scholarship for 2024/2025 due to her outstanding academic performance.

Mohammad Nur (Bangladesh) Cartography MSc (Faculty of Informatics)

Mohammad has participated in a number of professional events (workshops, summer course, and conferences) and has already published a number of papers During his studies.

The Hungarian Excellence Award recognizes students who have studied in full-degree programs in Hungarian or completed preparatory courses in the language.

This year’s ELTE recipient of the Hungarian Excellence Award:

Lai Anqi (China) Education BA (Faculty of Education and Psychology)

Lai Anqi has graduated in Hungarian studies at the prestigious Xi’an International Studies University where she has completed her thesis with excellence. Before she started her studies in Psychology BA in Hungarian at ELTE, she attended Hungarian language courses in Budapest. While she is a teaching intern on Chinese language courses in Budapest, she is also dedicated to Hungarian language and culture.
