During the Orientation Days you will hear about:
- ELTE and ELTE faculties in general
- Administrative to-do’s to get settled in Budapest (registration in Budapest, insurance) and to start your studies at ELTE (registration at the University, student ID)
- Services provided by the University (e.g., library, language learning)
- Ways to spend free time at ELTE (ESN ELTE, sports, university choir and orchestra, dance group)

14:30-17:00 Hungarian Culture Fair and Crash Course
Venue: Faculty of Law (1053 Budapest, Egyetem tér 1-3.) Room A/4 and Room A/5
- 15:00-16:00 Crash Course in Hungarian Group 1
- 16:00-17:00 Crash Course in Hungarian Group 2
On the Hungarian Culture Fair you will learn some Hungarian cultural customs and traditions. You can subscribe and participate on a crash course in Hungarian, where you can acquire the most important expressions of Hungarian language.
The mentors of ESN ELTE will teach you the tricks of handicrafts, such as “nemezelés” (planking), you can get a cool henna tattoo with traditional Hungarian motif or you can even take a picture in traditional Hungarian clothing. Participation is free.

10:00-12:00 Intercultural Introduction
Venue: Faculty of Education and Psychology (1075 Budapest, Kazinczy u. 23–27.; KAZY)

The intercultural training helps you prepare for your international experience in a foreign country. You can learn how you can deal with culture shock, and how you can use all this information during your studies at ELTE. Participation is free.

If you need help with finding the location, two ESN ELTE mentors will take you there.
Meeting point: Blaha Lujza square, in front of Burger King at 13:30, 14:00 and at 15:00.
Have you ever tried Dynamic Yoga or Zumba? What do you know about Brazilian Jitsu or Kettlebell? From early afternoon you will have a chance to know and try out various kind of sports course. Join the sport courses or Championships and meet with other international students.

10:00-17:00 Visit Széchenyi Thermal Bath with ESN ELTE
Meeting point: Heroes’ square at the big column, look for the ESN flag
The ESN ELTE Team invites you to join us for a refreshing thermal bath visit to help you start your semester fully relaxed and ready to face every challenge that's coming your way.
It also presents a nice opportunity for you to get to know each other while being rejuvenated by the water's healing properties.
Entrance fee: 5100 HUF (around EUR 15)
The bath we chose for this occasion is probably the most famous one in Budapest: the Széchenyi Thermal Bath - located near the Heroes’ square. Be sure to bring your towel and slippers!

Meeting Point: 15:40 p.m. at Petőfi Square (right next to the Elisabeth Bridge)

Please BE ON TIME, since the boat leaves the dock at 16:00. If you already bought the ticket but missed the boat, we cannot give you a refund!

14:00 ESN ELTE Parliament Visit
Probably you have heard of the world famous Parliament of Hungary. Now here is the chance to have a look form the inside. Join us on Facebook here.
Sign up for the visit here. Note that you will be able to enter in 2 groups. Each group includes 50 visitors.
Meeting point: Kossuth Square - at the entrance of the Visitor Centre. Look for the ESN Flag

Please keep in mind in which group have you registered to. Furthermore if you are late it may occur that you cannot enter. In that case we cannot do anything for you.
Ticket prices:
- EU students (ages 6-24): 1200 HUF
- EU citizen adults: 2200 HUF
- Non EU students (ages 6-24): 2800 HUF
- Non EU citizen adults: 5400 HUF
Please make sure you have the exact amount of money, because we will not be able to give you back any change. To purchase a student ticket we will need your student IDs - the one you got from ELTE or from your home university.
How to get to the Parliament?
Since the metro station at the Kossuth square is under reconstruction, here are some other options, how can you approach the Parliament:
- Bus M2A from Deák Square
- Tram 2
- Buses 15 and 115
- Trolleybuses 70 and 78
Regulations:
Since this is a parliament, there are some strict rules regarding the visitors:
- A security check is required prior to entering the House of Parliament. You must not enter the building with large bags, packages or objects capable of causing personal injury, such as pocket knives, knives, gas spray etc. It is forbidden to enter the building with weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives, blasting agents or related devices, or any pyrotechnic devices.
- Taking pictures or using video cameras is allowed in the building, except in the great Dome Hall for the protection of the Holy Crown.
