International Coordinators Driving the Success of Students
The Tempus Public Foundation organised a conference for professionals working in the field of internationalisation of higher education in Hungary at the University of Debrecen. The three-day event was designed to provide training and to exchange up-to-date knowledge and good practices. The conference was attended by more than 260 staff members from 41 higher education institutions in Hungary.
The Hungarian International Coordinators’ Annual Meeting discussed the opportunities offered by the internationalisation programmes coordinated by the Tempus Public Foundation, such as the Pannonia Scholarship Programme, Erasmus+, Stipendium Hungaricum, Diaspora, CEEPUS, bilateral state scholarships and DAAD.
There were also awards given out, two of them were won by coordinators at Eötvös Loránd University, Anna Rudolf and Julianna Szőke.
A few thoughts from her about this opportunity for students:
Participants can try themselves in a completely new world than the one in which they spend their everyday lives. Students are exposed to a different attitude and culture of higher education abroad, they can often be involved in longer-term collaborations, and such an experience can be personality-shaping for them.
In the tribute speech delivered at the award ceremony, Anna was praised as a selfless and indispensable supporter of her colleagues, staff from other departments, and her superiors. “Her work is characterized by exceptional professionalism, above-average precision, a systems approach, encyclopedic knowledge, a supportive, proactive, and empathetic attitude, as well as strong commitment.”
She also shared some thoughts about the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship programme.
“Attracting talented, enthusiastic, and dedicated individuals from the farthest corners of the world, offering them an appealing opportunity to study here and earn a European degree, is a meaningful goal. It makes the world a better place, even if on a small scale, one scholarship holder at a time. It’s important to acknowledge that after all, these are actual people living complete lives, even if we mostly meet them by their Neptun codes only.”
Congratulations on winning the awards!
