General public health insurance

English-language general practitioner care in partnership with Semmelweis University

As stated in the Operational Regulations, each scholarship holder is entitled to 65.000 HUF healthcare contribution each semester. These funds are allocated and managed centrally by the university to cover scholarship-related medical expenses. ELTE has partnered with Semmelweis University to provide English-language general practitioner (GP) care for students holding Stipendium Hungaricum, Hungarian Diaspora, or SCYP scholarships who have a valid TAJ number and therefore general public health insurance.

Once you receive your TAJ card, you will become eligible for the service starting the following month. You will also receive a notification in Neptun with further details.

The service provider assigns each student to one of two general practitioners. Please ensure you visit only the doctor specified in the Neptun message.

If you do not have a Taj card yet, please learn about the private health insurance provided by UNION in partnership with ELTE.
